Termites are destructive timber pests that eat away at wood and can severely damage the structure of your home. While termites may look similar to ants, they are distinctly different creatures and do not have a thorax. Termites must also maintain contact with the ground for moisture and typically construct mud tunnels to protect themselves while travelling from their nest to a food source.
If you see termites, particularly after moving an object, replace the item and do not disturb them. Attempting to treat termites alone or without the proper experience could cause the creatures to abandon the area and relocate. This relocation can cause additional damage to your home and increase the time it takes to discover and destroy the colony.
